A Week In The Life

A-Day-In-The-LifeIf you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen these. If not, well then have a look (and if you feel like it, follow me on Instagram).

I mean who doesn’t love documenting their day to days with Instagram pix? That certainly wouldn’t be me. Or wait, I mean it would be me? I don’t know it’s late and I’m confusing myself. Apparently.

Anyways, I like to share my adventures. So from left to right:

HIKNG: I. Love. Hiking. Love being out and about in nature. So peaceful, and includes exercise. Win win. A bestie and I had a lovely hike the other morning. This is actually at one of my favorite Orange County photo locations. So I made it to the top, which let’s be honest, really isn’t that high. Haha. But doesn’t it sound so much better with me saying, “I hiked to the top!” Right?

RAMPAGE: Well this really ins’t my adventure, it’s his. His sleep. He sleeps. A lot. He sleeps until about 8am. Then takes his morning walk, eats breakfast, and goes right back to sleep. Until around 4pm. True story. What if we could all get so much sleep? Oh well. Life vicariously through him.

CAT HEAD: No adventure here. But when I walked up to my house the other day, my neighbor’s cat (head) was poking out like this. I couldn’t stop laughing about it. Isn’t it funny?

BLODDY MARYS: My bestie and I are on a permanent mission to find the best Bloody Marys in town. The spicier the better. We’re very particular. Most of the time when people make suggestions of where to get great bloddies (that’s what we call them for short, bloodies), they typically don’t impress us. Very picky. This one shown here was not bad. Now everyone has a different definition of a great bloody. Mine is not in the add ons. It’s in the thickness and flavor. However, this was a win.

Okay that’s all the adventure for now. Happy Friday!

15 Things. #3.

We’re back, with our latest edition of 15 things that make me happy. If you need a refresher course on what this is about, read this please. So we’re moving right along, on to #3 (#2 is here, check it).

Last night I went to the best. concert. EVER.
EVER!!!
Mumford and Sons is the band that made me smile like I haven’t smiled in so long.Mumford And Sons San ManuelI’ve always been a music person. Often times in my house, music will be playing instead of TV for background noise. I’ve been a concert goer for the majority of my life. And I don’t think that will ever change.

Last time Mumford was in town, we didn’t go. And everyone else did. And they all had the best time of their lives. But I didn’t. Because I didn’t get tickets. It was a devastating time in my life. So you can imagine my joy when I got a notice for presale tickets to their next round of tours in California.

Last night was the big night.
AND IT WAS ALL THAT I DREAMED IT WOULD BE.

The #3 thing that makes me happy?
Going to concerts of bands that I absolutely adore with all my heart, smiling the entire time, feeling sad inside when the final encore is done, then replaying the whole night over and over in my head the next day.
THAT.
Makes me happy.

And that is exactly what happened last night. I need more wonderful nights like these in my life!! So awesome. I’m very grateful to have a night like this in the memory books.

Road Trippin: Calico Ghost Town

Calico Ghost Town (3)Happy Monday/day back from a really long weekend which is always the best thing ever!

I spent the weekend adventuring around southern California. Saw some awesome new places and things! One of them is this here lovely little ghost town. Known as Calico Ghost Town, this eclectic community is nestled in the middle of absolutely no where. However, it’s a fab little gem that I think is definitely worth visiting if you happen to be out that way (exactly half way between Orange County and Vegas).

It has nothing to do with ghosts. It’s really just a tourst attraction, NOW. But once upon a time, long long ago (like in 1880 at the boom of silver prices), it was filled with 1,200 people who mined their little hearts out, searching for sliver. Then the silver prices bombed around 1907, and everyone got the heck out of this town (probably because like I said, it’s in the middle of no where, and that’s not so cool).

So Mr. Knotts Berry Farm man bought it, gifted it to the county of San Bernardino, and made it a $7 per person tourist attraction. I think it wasn’t worth $7. But whateves, it was awesome to see at least once.

So if you have an extra hour or two going to or from Vegas, stop over, check it, take some tourist pics, buy some tourist stuff, and say you’ve been to Calico Ghost Town!Calico Ghost Town (1) Calico Ghost Town Calico Ghost Town (12) Calico Ghost Town (11) Calico Ghost Town (10) Calico Ghost Town (7) Calico Ghost Town (6) Calico Ghost Town (2) Calico Ghost Town (4) Calico Ghost Town (5)This was the only ghost I even saw there, geez!Calico Ghost Town (8) Calico Ghost Town (9)Sitting on giant porches, rocking on rocking chairs. That’s the life! We came, we saw, we sat.Calico Ghost Town (13)And that concludes our tour of Calico. Thanks for visiting!

15 Things. #2.

Hi.
Remember when I started that 15 things list?
If you don’t, you best check it out right here. OR. ELSE.
Hehe or else nothing.

So I’m making a list of 15 things that make me truly, genuinely happy. And not one word things, but really specific things. It’s harder than you think. Have you tried?

Okay today I’m continuing my list with #2.San-Francisco-VacationThere is nothing that makes me happier than traveling to somewhere new. Where I get to spend time with someone I love. Trying so many new restaurants and menu items, not doing any work, figuring out how to get somewhere I’ve never been. Getting anxiety from public transportation. Choosing what activities I’ll fill my day with. Happily waking up early to fit this all in!

Now THAT. Makes me happy.

The pictures above are from my last little get away, where my bestie and I road tripped up to San Francisco. We both had an amazing week there. Did all of the above mentioned things, and love love loved every minute of it all.

Now, I’m itching for more moments like this, like ASAP. Except this time it needs to be somewhere tropical so I can smell the fresh foreign beach air early in the morning. Until then, I have lovely memories of some awesome times.

What’s #2 on your list of 15 things that make you soooooooo happy?
